A History of Freedom

After two centuries of war and Industrial Revolution, humans were at the threshold
of a new era. The Eugenics Wars were over. Adversaries became friends. And because
of those historic changes, space exploration offered an arena of discovery and
cooperation that became one of the defining elements in the human experience.

The United States of America -- in cooperation with Russia and the European Space
Agency -- developed The Space Station Program which, in turn, built the Space Station
Freedom. She was commissioned in 2003 A.D. and quickly became the largest,
peacetime, cooperative scientific program between the nations of Earth in her entire
history.

The multi-national scientists stationed on board began long-term research that finally
yielded cures for various forms of cancer including breast and ovarian, among others.
These scientists also produced new forms of power generation and new ways to conserve
and protect Earth's natural environmental resources. The Freedom was a natural testbed
for developing space technologies for the 21st Century and beyond.
